Dr. Stephen Robinson
Dear friends, If past is prologue, I expect the election committee, at the behest of the Board, will try to EXCLUDE Jervis Thompson from even attending the candidates' night zoom meeting, on the specious grounds that he is not a shareholder.
I, for one, will challenge the basis for that decision.
1) Jervis has been living in the building for longer than all but one of the current board members.
2) Despite the noisome caterwauling by some that he resides elsewhere, he has not only served on the election committee in the past, but run for office, TWICE! In fact, more shareholders voted for him in the last election, than they did for the person objecting to his residency !
The fact that his shareholder status is being called into question NOW, may have more to do with stifling his requests for access to our financial records, TO WHICH EVERY SHAREHOLDER HAS A RIGHT, than to any newly discovered information about his residency.
If true, this is a dangerous precedent for the Board, making an extra judicial determination stripping a shareholder of their status and their rights. This would be grounds for a law suit, and all the legal fees the board expends trying to enforce their arbitrary and capricious action should be attributed to them.
Another question that should be on everyone's mind is: Who's next ?
If you are of like mind, should this situation come to pass, please voice your objection to this exclusion !
